Marco Lauerwald

Hello, my name is Marco Lauerwald.

I built my first website in 2002. Eight years later, I not only achieved my Bachelor's degree at BiTS in Iserlohn in "Business Journalism", but I also got my first job in marketing at G DATA in Bochum. During my six years at G DATA, I was responsible for performance campaigns and the management of external online shops such as Amazon. In 2014, following my Bachelor's degree, I also completed my Master's degree part-time at FOM in Dortmund in "Management: Marketing & Sales".

Two years later, I changed jobs and took over the SEO team at Urlaubsguru GmbH as team leader. Until the end of 2019, I was employed as Head of Online Marketing at the company and, with my 15-person team, I was responsible for the major areas of Social Media, Performance Marketing, and SEO for the Urlaubsguru brand. Since 2020, I have been Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at watt24 GmbH.

The greatest professional success was winning the German Search Engine Marketing Award "SEMY" in Munich in 2019 for the Best SEO Campaign with Urlaubsguru. In addition, we made it to the shortlist for the European Search Award three times and narrowly missed winning the SEMY Award for the best SEO campaign of the year on the shortlist in 2018.
