About Frédéric Marcel

I remember in 1997 the first time I opened Front Page Express to create my first website of Nintendo 64 tips and tricks, how I was captivated by the potential for creation, while I was centering the title of my page using <center> ... Since then, my feeling towards software creation has remained the same: it's a constant wonder! There's nothing better than polishing a user interface; interconnecting backends; testing, measuring, creating something of quality and usefulness.

I enjoy meeting new people, so don't hesitate to send me a message and share your project with me.

My expertise:
- Native Android app development (Java, Kotlin). I have put about 5 native Android apps into production, on private and public stores. My best reference is an app for the cleaning agents of the city of Marseille: about fifty daily users, the app works offline, is GPS-based, must limit battery usage, must be usable in total nomadism...
- Hybrid app development (based on web technologies: Cordova, Ionic, Angular, Vue.js). Here, my best reference is L'Officiel des Spectacles.
- Backend and backoffice: an app is generally accompanied by a backoffice, a showcase website, and/or an API.
- Devops: Node.js, shell, Docker scripting
- Tests
- Code quality
- Change and release management (Fastlane, Appstore and Playstore)
- Hosting

When I'm not working, I'm probably with my mixed-breed Pointer/Labrador dog who loves to run and play sports, even more than I do. Deep down, I've remained a child, and I love discovering, listening to, and composing music, and traveling whenever I can.

It is fundamental for me to deliver useful features to future users to ensure the success of your project.

Creation of a Web and Mobile development agency.

Development and production of a multitude of applications, web, mobile, or desktop.

    Some examples:

    - SUEZ: Android native apps for cleaning agents of the streets of Marseille and Lyon. GPS-based, offline handling, recovery after disconnection. These apps have been developed in *TDD* thanks to Robolectric. Configured Airwatch for managing deployment. These apps relied on spacedog.io backend, and a Vue.JS backoffice (with Vuex store, a.k.a Flux)

    - Carestream: web apps for dentists to manage patients and launch medical image review. Angular/NestJS stack (full TypeScript). I had to set up the Angular6 front, chose Ng-RX to have a Redux/Flux-like state management. Deployed to two Azure Kubernetes clusters (win, Linux) using Docker and Travis-ci scripts.

    - L'Officiel des Spectacles: the historic and best way to find shows, theaters, concerts, and activities in Paris and suburbs. It has a slick and fluid UI, payment, search, fullscreen image roll, and it handles offline well. Developed with Ionic, Angular, and Phonegap. Available on the AppStore and PlayStore (Dec-15) and on the web. It has been featured on the AppStore! AFAIK the only hybrid app ever to have been featured.

    - My Twist: "garage sale" app for clothes. Developed hand in hand with the customer using the Lean Startup's canvas for iOS only (Objective C). Available on the AppStore.

    - French Wine Experience: the companion app for the luxurious Caves du Louvre museum. It’s about wine and the 5 senses. A wonderful experience built by passionate people. This app, for iOS and Android, works with iBeacons to offer contextual information as well as notifications and automatic page navigation when walking around. It has an encyclopedia, pro tips about wine, mini-games, "wheel-of-fortune" matching algorithm between food and wine. Available on the AppStore and PlayStore.
