About Maëlys

✨ The right word.
✨ The tone-setting sentence.
✨ The game-changing phrasing.

As a passionate literature enthusiast, I enthusiastically navigate various freelance concept and writing projects... Perhaps yours next?

After working in editorial for Éditions Gallimard and gaining my first experience as a copywriter in two agencies, I now wish to diversify my clientele and write for projects that truly move me and deeply excite me.

Eternally curious, I pursue the unusual and unique with my sharp and precise pen, which adapts to your needs and your target audience!

I can certainly write articles and editorial content on various topics (environment, art & culture, well-being, lifestyle, crafts, etc.), and work on multiple platforms (web and print magazines, website content, newsletters, social media, etc.).

Feel free to contact me for any requests!
Looking forward to discussing!

Education

  • Master of Arts (MA) in Anglophone Literature
    Paris-Sorbonne University
    2023
Thesis' subject: “The representation of trees, their dialogue and interconnectedness in The Road by Cormac McCarthy and Richard Powers’ The Overstory.” Despite their stark contrasts in length, style, and subject matter, The Road and The Overstory share a common ground: the exploration of humanity's future. This thesis seeks to illuminate the dialogue and communion between humans and trees as depicted in these two contemporary American novels. By examining the representation of the environmental crisis, particularly the role and symbolism of trees, this study aims to understand how these literary works contribute to our perception of the natural world and our place within it. Ultimately, it will explore how both novels, while distinct in genre and tone, converge in their portrayal of humans and trees as interconnected and vulnerable participants in a shared ecological destiny.
