About Ludovic

Passionate about computer science and innovative technologies, I lead XR (VR/AR) and HMI developments based on Unity/C# or WebXR/three.js/aframe. Beyond the technical aspect of an engineer, I also hold a PhD in computer science and conduct bibliographic, technical, and competitive intelligence for R&D needs.

I also participate in several communities related to XR, HMI, and the Web, which aim to invent, prototype, and disseminate new open-source / free / Do-It-Yourself (DIY) / P2P / Indie solutions as ethical alternatives.

    # Design and evaluation of an interactive upper limb self-rehabilitation tool Stroke is a disease affecting 120,000 patients per year in France, about half of whom have functional sequelae. Upper limb motor deficit is one of the main ones. Motor rehabilitation is the only method that can induce recovery of variable quality. This rehabilitation is generally initiated after an average delay of 7-10 days, and under limited conditions, due to the relative availability of physiotherapists for each patient. The contribution of virtual reality technologies to this problem has been widely established. The objective of this work is to design and develop, in collaboration with the Centre Hospitalier-Sud Francilien, an interactive self-rehabilitation tool that can be used by the patient from the acute phase, without any delay, and without time limitations inherent in the mobilization of a physiotherapist. A first prototype has been proposed. It is based on the natural manipulation of a realistic virtual hand, with a first-person visualization, allowing simple grasping of virtual objects or target acquisition. The tracking of the patient's real hand is done through a low-cost capture device (leap motion) and visualization is done through a multimedia screen. Based on a state-of-the-art review and a human-centered iterative design methodology, the work will consist of designing and developing a 2nd prototype of this tool allowing patients to perform a large number of repetitive manipulations. The use of "serious games" elements is considered. The feasibility of this tool will be tested on a sample of carefully selected patients, before being formally evaluated in a pilot study.
