Experience
- Lorène CopinetCopywriter & Editorial Strategist, Specializing in Architecture and DesignARCHITECTURE AND URBAN PLANNINGSeptember 2017 - Today (8 years and 9 months)For several years, I have been assisting architects and designers in writing tailor-made content. My role is to translate their vision and the uniqueness of their projects into clear, precise, and engaging texts.I conduct interviews with designers, analyze plans, photos, and technical documents, then structure and write various types of content, according to the mandate's objectives:• Project texts (for calls for projects, competitions, publications, etc.)• Blog posts and newsletters• Press releases• LinkedIn publications• Web pages (landing pages, studio presentations, product sheets, etc.)• Biographies, approach texts, vision, and valuesI ensure the tone is appropriate and consistent with the studio's or company's identity. Today, I am expanding my support towards global strategic thinking: developing editorial lines, structuring content, and enhancing visibility. The objectives of my clients? To professionalize their communication, stand out among their peers, increase their visibility, grow their community, or win a project bid. Several firms have indeed received awards for projects based on texts I have written.
- Magazine LigneFreelance CopywriterARCHITECTURE AND URBAN PLANNINGJanuary 2021 - Today (5 years and 5 months)Montréal, CanadaSince 2021, I have been regularly collaborating with *Ligne*, a Quebec-based print magazine dedicated to architecture, design, and art, published twice a year since 2020. The magazine highlights committed, local, and sensitive contemporary practices through a refined and demanding editorial line.My contributions:
- Writing presentation texts for architectural projects, based on provided files and exchanges with the designers.
- Writingbriefson news or trends in design & architecture.
- I participated in a carte blanche, in the form of a fictional text blending ecology, anticipation, and architecture, developing a more literary and narrative approach to the subject.
My writing adapts to the magazine's tone, which is rigorous, accessible, and sensitive to forms and ideas. This assignment allows me to explore different voices and registers around the universes that fascinate me. - Index-Design - La référence des professionnels du designIndependent CopywriterARCHITECTURE AND URBAN PLANNINGMarch 2017 - Today (9 years and 3 months)Montreal, QC, CanadaFounded in 2006 by designers for designers, Index-Design is a key player in design and architecture in Quebec, becoming a reference for its professional community.Evolution of my role:
- From 2017 to 2023, I worked as a journalist. I proposed topics related to conscious architecture, sustainable design, and innovations in eco-materials, themes that are close to my heart. I produced a series of articles on eco-materials, covered events like the Rendez-vous des écomatériaux, and conducted interviews with professionals involved in these initiatives.
- In 2022, I took charge of writing the 2023 Trend Report (included in the 200 Guide, an annual print publication)
- Since 2023, my collaborations have primarily taken the form of commissioned articles: I meet clients for interviews, I propose or refine a presentation angle, and I write clear, structured content that highlights their project without resorting to a promotional tone. The topics covered are varied—furniture, architecture, product design, lighting—and the texts are published on the Index-Design website.
My contribution is based on journalistic rigor, an ability to listen and interpret sustainable issues, and adaptable writing: I move from sensitive and committed articles to sponsored content while maintaining credibility and style, regardless of the format (blog or print).
