Laurie Lefèvre

Product Designer Assistant internship for Studio Julie Richoz in Paris. Julie, a young Franco-Swiss Designer, curiously and sensitively develops her own language through objects. From unique pieces to industrial scale, in both cases, she is fascinated by craftsmanship, passion, and precision in material manipulation. Her practice ranges from objects, furniture, lighting, to textiles. During this internship, my tasks included:

- Creating models and prototypes

- Researching colors and finishes

- Product development (vases, a lamp, a jacquard rug, a flat-woven rug, an armchair)

- Finalizing technical sheets and presentation files

- Preparing exhibitions...

Currently, I work as a freelance textile designer for the social enterprise Soieries du Mekong. Since 2001, Soieries du Mekong has been crafting silk scarves, foulards, and stoles, designed in France and hand-woven in Cambodia. My role involves developing all scarf collections for the summer and winter seasons, respecting and enhancing the exceptional and ancestral know-how of the weavers of Banteay Chhmar. This experience allows me to leverage my textile sensibility and creativity through all stages of collection design:

- Prospecting trends and developing mood boards and a color palette

- Developing about fifteen new scarf models

- Coloring and adjusting old models

- Simulating the collection plan through schematic visuals on Illustrator

- Preparing technical sheets to be communicated in English

- Remote production monitoring

Textile designer internship for the cashmere scarf brand Douce Gloire in their Nepalese workshops. Since 2007, the brand Douce Gloire, led by Ines Lafarge, has been creating cashmere scarves and foulards. The collections are designed in France and made in Nepal, respecting traditional weaving knowledge. During this period, my tasks were as follows:

- Creating scarf designs

- Coloring old scarf models

- Developing woven effects (new weaves)

- Technical sheets in English

- Production monitoring...
