During his PhD in physics at CEA, Laurent developed parallel numerical simulation software that made the most of France's largest supercomputer (Cray-T3E). Over the past twenty years, he has participated in the evolution of high-performance computing (multi-processors, multi-cores, vector units, GPUs...) becoming a recognized specialist in mathematical methods (particle, PIC, finite element, octree...) and IT techniques (MPI, OpenMP, TBB, CUDA, PaRSEC...) of HPC.
Laurent has developed HPC software in fields as diverse as nuclear physics, neutronics, nanophysics, plasma physics, thermohydraulics, and production management.
Throughout his career (CEA, RWTH, EDF R&D, TriScale innov), Laurent has been committed to passing on his knowledge of high-yield computing through numerous scientific publications, the organization of summer schools and workshops, the supervision of PhDs, and the teaching of HPC to simulation professionals.
