    March 2023 - January 2024 (11 months)
The French Geographic National Institute are building an open digital platform to allow all map producers in France to upload, share, visualise and mutualise location-based datasets.

Producers are local government departments and agencies, public organisations, private companies…etc. This platform is called “Géoplateforme” and includes numerous digital tools for various use cases. It is a 21 million euros sovereign project.

I designed the UX experience for the following 2 systems:
    • an online map-based tool (“Portail Cartographique”) for the general public to access maps, select and visualise from thousands of location-based data, import and use tools, report errors, personalise, save and share their own maps…
    • a back-end administrative system allowing map professionals to update and manage their data, create visualisations, review maps data from other producers, manage user feedback…

    Process followed:
    • interviewed stakeholders to identify and prioritise requirements, understand the user needs and pain points
    • identified and designed key workflows
    • created wireframes for the main screens in the experience
    • had daily interactions with the project stakeholders (Project Owners, Tech Specialists, Copywriters, Marketing and Communications teams…)
    • created a large UX prototype illustrating all the flows and screens
    • led quantitative and qualitative testing workshops with end users
    • updated the workflows and prototype based on the user feedback
    • followed up with Accessibility specialist, UI designers and Front End developers.
