Hobby project – Implementation of a simple MCP server that allows Copilot in Visual Studio to access local Git repositories instead of just the open solution.

The Bavarian State Office for Digitalization, Broadband and Surveying in Munich wants to expand and update the technical know-how of its development department. For this purpose, a training on modern .NET topics was conducted.

The content included advanced features of Entity Framework Core, Dependency Injection, Async/Await best practices and pitfalls, as well as semantic logging. An important focus of the training was ASP.NET Core Web API with topics such as testable architectures, health checks, structured error handling, and automatic generation of REST clients.

Furthermore, unit and integration tests with xUnit, Moq, and Testcontainers, as well as modern C# features, were taught in a practical manner. The learned knowledge was then applied and consolidated in practical project work and during coding with AI agents.
