From 2026 onwards, TEJO Sint-Niklaas vzw will fully embrace the pillar of ‘preventive and social projects’ under the name ‘HOU-VAST’ (HOLD ON).

As a citizen, resident, individual, volunteer, we can be a source of support for each other.

By focusing on this, we strengthen a warm and empathetic attitude in children and young people towards themselves, their peers, and by extension, society.

As an organization, we want to facilitate or contribute to the development of connecting initiatives for young people within a social framework.

We strongly believe in a society where the mental well-being of children and young people is a shared responsibility of young people and adults.

Resilient young people in a warm society is also a shared responsibility of government and citizens. The government provides accessible and professional help. As citizens, we can, preventively, focus on social cohesion and care for each other.

• Organizing and coordinating performances, parties, open mics, DJ battles, workshops, and stage events

• Point of contact for artists; actively networking and collaborating with artists and cultural partners

• Facilitating and guiding young people in discovering and organizing activities

• Coaching and supervising volunteer teams; basic technical setup for events

• External communication, social media, and budget monitoring for projects

I focus on communication between humans and animals, respecting boundaries, and recognizing needs.
