About Killian

I have always been passionate about artistic creation, it all started when I was younger with painting. Very quickly, graphic design and photography presented themselves to me, and it was naturally in high school that I discovered the world of the web, allowing me to put my passions for photography, graphic design, and drawing to good use.

In my free time and through my business, I have done portrait, culinary, and packshot shoots, and I have worked as a graphic designer for album covers, posters, logos, business cards, etc.

I therefore decided to focus my studies on web development. Liking both the creative side of the front-end and the algorithmic and architectural side of the back-end, I specialized my skills in full-stack.

Through my professional projects, I learned a lot about the back-end. Indeed, I acquired technical skills during my work-study program, where I worked on web applications for the health insurance sector and during my experience at BARNES International as a developer on a Symfony refactoring.

But it was on my personal projects and as a freelancer that I improved my front-end skills. Particularly by working on sites from scratch with a strong emphasis on design. With particular attention to responsiveness and positioning using grids with homemade solutions.

Therefore, through my professional and personal skills, I can work on all aspects of a project from a graphical or technical point of view.

Since then, I have been spending my free time between Street Art, photography, graphic design, and Web development, carrying out various projects.

    Context

The magazine Photo wanted to modernize its digital ecosystem by completely redesigning its main website (photo.fr) and centralizing subscription management (abo-photo.fr) within a single platform. And setting up the server architecture.

The objective was to offer a unified user experience, simplify content and user management, and optimize technical performance, especially for image and payment management.

    Main Objectives

Complete redesign of the photo.fr website for a modern and coherent visual identity.
Centralization of the two sites (photo.fr and abo-photo.fr) into a single platform, with fluid navigation between sections dedicated to contests and subscriptions.
Creation of a custom WYSIWYG editing CMS, allowing the magazine's teams to update content without technical skills.
Optimization of image management via a dedicated server with proxy, to dynamically generate different formats from HD files.
Development of a comprehensive back office for managing site content, users, and settings.

    Technical Solutions Implemented

    • Symfony Framework
Using Symfony for its robustness and flexibility, allowing the project to be structured into modules (front-end, back office, API).

    • Custom direct editing CMS
WYSIWYG interface to allow editors to modify articles, static pages, and banners in real-time. With setup and management of access rights (roles: super administrator, administrator, editor, client).
    Modification history for tracking updates.

    • Dedicated server with proxy for images
Unique storage of HD images on the server.
Dynamic generation of optimized formats (thumbnail, medium, large) via an ImgProxy. Allowing a reduction in server load and improvement in loading times.

    FILM AND AV
    April 2022 - July 2022 (3 months)
    Versailles, France
For the launch of SAS Prod Box, I created 4 websites to showcase their photo, video, and graphic design services, as well as a flagship site briefly presenting their expertise.

Each site had to have its own art direction and therefore a different graphic charter, which I also created.

Each site is a showcase website. I used templates that I modified, and at other times, I created the site from scratch using homemade solutions.
