Des méthodes chromatographiques (HPTLC) et spectrométriques ont permis d'identifier des saponines, telles que la soyasaponine et l’azukisaponine, dans des populations de différentes régions. Les fractions isolées ont montré des effets neuroprotecteurs contre le peptide Aβ et une inhibition significative de la prolifération des cellules de cancer colorectal CACO-2, suggérant un potentiel thérapeutique.
