About Kevin

IT Engineer with a Swiss Army knife option and Project & Team Management. Passionate above all, I obtained my diplomas from IUT R&T of LUMINY (13). More recently, I earned an AGILE SCRUM MASTER & DevOps Certification. It is this consuming passion for IT that led me to make it my profession. I enjoy sharing my knowledge but especially learning. Considered an IT Swiss Army knife by most of my colleagues and with over 7 years of professional experience, I have had the opportunity to put my skills to use for various IT consulting firms and different companies of all sizes.
During this adventure, I deployed, administered, and evolved numerous IS, managed various projects, and led teams.

More specifically, projects with an international scope (100% English-speaking context with time zone considerations for exchanges), high-availability infrastructures deployed and maintained by me (Total infrastructure. Budget, deployment, and ongoing maintenance, including backup, remote site interconnection, and access security, VPS hosting). The project's goal was to achieve a 99.999% availability rate as well as the guarantee of data protection and longevity in compliance with GDPR and various BCP/DRP with documentation and technical guides (for insurance companies, notably).
Monitoring and preventive or corrective actions were also part of my responsibilities.
The majority of the environment was under Windows Server and Hyper-V, primarily supported by CISCO network equipment. ESXI hypervisors with or without Vcenter, Nutanix, Citrix, and Proxmox are also familiar to me. Known firewalls are multi-brand, and mastered VOIP includes WilDix, 3CX, and Asterisk.

Accustomed to audits, I write pure technical documentation and "simplified" versions to facilitate understanding outside the IT field.

My strength can become your strength; if it is with me, it will be with you.

Passionate since childhood about many subjects related to science and mathematics, IT remains my favorite subject. My position/current role is not clearly defined. I am sometimes called a Swiss Army knife, which fits my current role quite well. I naturally respond to client requests for L2/L3 support and go on-site when needed. In addition to handling client tickets, I am primarily responsible for datacenter-related aspects, their interconnection and security, which includes ongoing maintenance, backup with BCP/DRP for physical servers as well as client VPS running on my clusters and our Exchange servers. Storage management is also part of my "responsibilities," both in terms of logical data distribution and IOPS limits, as well as the choice of hardware and technologies based on needs, performance, and amortization. Hardware implementation and configuration are also included as this task is also assigned to me. Alongside this range of "functions," I am in charge of the VOIP part, particularly 3CX servers. I have a recognized disability status (RQTH) for a leg injury ten years ago, which does not prevent me from driving.

A mission that did not go as planned with many twists and turns and unforeseen events, with constraints such as encryption keys provided by the previous IT provider being non-functional, etc. But he managed to bounce back and never stopped looking for a way to decrypt our data, finally succeeding. With the IS redesign, the implementation of best practices, and then security projects, the mission went relatively well, apart from some difficulties in reaching him at times, but nothing more. He also chose to put us in touch with a local IT consulting firm he knew, which he knew to be serious and competent, to take over with a proper handover at the end of the mission, rather than leaving us in the lurch. Still in contact, if we have a need, he doesn't hesitate to help us on-site, and he doesn't necessarily charge for the time or travel. Truly involved and attentive, he was also a well-liked person.
