About Katherine

Your climate strategies and plans require evidence-based data, models, and economic analysis to be taken seriously by decision-makers.

Climate economic analysis is a puzzle: "traditional" economists don't know what to do with climate information. Economic tools are ill-suited to climate issues. Climate specialists are reluctant to use the analytical tools that caused the problems.

I support you beyond conducting analyses, in choosing and adapting analytical tools that allow you to:
- Navigate economic rhetoric (and use it) to advance climate action.
- Critique methodologies and conclusions that are damaging to the climate.
- Choose quantitative and economic analysis tools, and adapt them to account for the true realities of the climate.

I collaborate with professionals who want support in integrating climate into decision-making.

My priority is that you are able to defend methodological choices, tools, and figures to advance your objectives.

My experience combines mitigation issues as well as resilience and adaptation.

I have led more than 50 climate projects. Some I am particularly proud of:
- Design of a CAD $750 million program (approximately EUR 475 million) for the development of local programs for financing residential retrofits
- 15 feasibility studies and local program designs for financing residential retrofits.
- Methodological guide for integrating climate data for the value of hydroelectric assets developed in partnership with 5 major Canadian hydroelectric companies.
- Strategic reflection, development, and quantification of the impacts of the City of Montreal's Climate Plan.

I also have a community of practice and a book club for climate professionals (find them on LinkedIn)
