Scintil Photonics, a fast-growing deeptech startup, needed a corporate video documenting their automated testing environment — a technically complex subject to make accessible and visually interesting.

Not just filming equipment. I worked with the team to understand the core of the project — what makes it unique — and build a visual narrative around it.

🎯 THE PROJECT

A 20-minute dramatic short film produced by students from the Montpellier film school. My role: Director of Photography (DOP) responsible for the entire visual narrative.

Period: Production ~12 months ago
Status: Film completed, full post-production

🎨 APPROACH & RESPONSIBILITIES

As DOP, I:

• Built the entire visual narrative around the script through imagery, lighting, and colorimetry
• Directed the full technical crew: lighting team, cameraman, sound recordists
• Installed and configured all light sources on set
• Trained teams on using equipment and executing the vision
• Defined the film's color palette and visual style
• Ensured aesthetic consistency between sequences

The central challenge: translating the script's emotional intention into visual language (light, composition, color).
