Rakuten DX is a technical expertise center of the international group Rakuten, with over 25,000 employees. Rakuten Kobo is a company specializing in e-readers, used by 26 million people.

I joined an international team of 10 people within Rakuten Kobo to participate in the creation, from the first line of code, of tools to modernize and unify EPUB (digital book) reading across multiple platforms. Communication was almost exclusively in English.

During my three and a half year mission, I participated in:

- The creation of a rendering engine (Typescript) used by other entities in the group.

- The creation of a web application for reading books / comics / manga (React.js / Typescript).

- The integration of the rendering engine, in close collaboration with other development teams, into other group applications.

- Mentoring and skill development support for various international collaborators (dev and QA).

- Development of unit and e2e tests (jest, webdriver).

- Decision-making within the SCRUM team.

Currently in production, the application is used by 6k daily users and the engine is implemented in 3 other group applications (iOS, web, e-reader), used by 250k daily users. We have worked extensively on accessibility to enable as many people as possible to read books in optimal conditions.

Diadao is a digital agency with 15 employees, specializing for over 20 years in the hospitality and restaurant industry.

I stayed with the team for nearly 7 years. Our goal was to create custom websites to regain market share from platforms like Booking by encouraging visitors to book directly with the establishment.

I participated in the development and maintenance of showcase websites (Hotel Relais Madeleine, Château de Rochegude, Château d’Ygrande... as well as the agency's website) and e-commerce sites (La Tanière du Kanken, Diadabox). I also worked on internal tools like a dynamic pricing engine and a newsletter system integrated into the CMS.

Starting as a JS and PHP developer, I evolved within the structure to become Lead Dev. In this role, I served as the interface between the project manager and other developers, participating in cost estimation and decision-making, as well as training and supporting colleagues.

The websites mentioned are still accessible and continue to generate revenue for the client and the agency through application and evolutionary maintenance packages.

PH2M is an agency specializing in the development of Magento e-commerce sites, with 11 developers. During my 8-month mission, I was the first developer brought in to support the duo of founders/developers. During this experience, I was responsible for the development and maintenance of Magento e-commerce sites as well as client relations.
