IT Security and Information Management at BaFin

During my tenure at the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), I worked in the field of information security and took on a variety of responsible tasks. My activities included, among others:

Introduction of Microsoft Office 365: Accompanying the implementation, considering information security requirements.

Conducting Penetration Tests: Identifying and rectifying security-critical vulnerabilities.

Creation and Implementation of Security Concepts: Developing strategic measures to protect the IT infrastructure.

Conducting Audits: Implementing and monitoring system audits (e.g., Sys1.8) and building management audits.

Participation in Risk Analyses: Identifying and evaluating risks to improve the security posture.

Collaboration with External Partners: Coordination and alignment with various external service providers and organizations.

Participation and Contribution in International Committees: Working in committees such as EIOPA and the ECB to harmonize security standards.

Awareness Measures: Conducting training and campaigns to raise awareness for information security.

Formulation and Coordination of Service Directives: Developing and implementing guidelines in the areas of data protection and IT security.

IT Consultant and Technical Specialist

During my employment at a leading IT system house, I was significantly involved in the support, consulting, and implementation of complex IT projects. My main responsibilities included:

Technical support and consulting for a major client in the banking sector, particularly in the Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environment.

Handling 2nd and 3rd level support requests, including in the areas of Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune, Autopilot, Exchange, Security and Compliance, Teams, and Azure AD.

Customer support and further development of Microsoft 365 solutions, including migration projects to the Microsoft 365 cloud.

Planning and execution of migration projects as well as conception and monitoring of IT solutions.
