About Juan

Video Editor and Motion Designer
French / English / Spanish

I am currently based in Paris where I work as a freelance video editor and motion graphics animator for documentary, humanitarian, journalistic, and scientific projects with NGOs such as Doctors Without Borders, AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science), and the United Nations Office of Victims' Rights Advocate (OVRA).

After a few years of internships for various types of newspapers and magazines like Science and The New Republic, my career began in 2015 in Washington D.C. with AAAS (the association that publishes Science magazine) where I worked as a communications manager. Today, I continue to work with AAAS as a freelance video editor. In recent years, I have also worked as a journalist (written and video) with WorldCrunch and BRUT in Paris.

Previously, I volunteered in refugee camps and with refugee aid organizations in Greece such as FEOX and ActForRef in Lyon. Through these experiences, I produced two documentaries ("Uninterrupted Paradise" and "An Iraqi Belly Dancer") which were shown and awarded at several film festivals with Amnesty International, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and broadcast in France by La Cimade.

All these experiences have given me the technical, artistic, journalistic, and audiovisual skills to work with universities, humanitarian and scientific NGOs, as well as on documentary projects.

I am passionate about my work and constantly looking for ways to use my skills to help others. I would describe myself as versatile and motivated. When I join a team, I bring a range of creative skills that allow me to switch between different roles and wear multiple hats at the same time.
