I updated and maintained our Uniface software from Version 8 to 9 and then 10. This involved updating our version control system to migrate between versions. I additionally created tools to automatically update our Uniface 9 code to Uniface 10 (as we were still developing in Uniface 9). I updated our development processes, detailing how our team's practices should change to reflect these changes. Additionally, I upgraded our web platforms from Tomcat 7 to Tomcat 10. During my time at MRI I was part of the Technical Team, within which we would create quarterly releases of our product. We were also responsible for creating and maintaining our environments (via the AWS console). This included creating new databases and new servers (along with security groups). I also helped to improve performance with our Oracle databases.

In my role as a consultant at the company that owned Uniface, I engaged in a variety of projects for clients across different industries worldwide, such as property, finance, and human resources. My responsibilities included applying web and client-server-based technologies to address the specific challenges and requirements of each business sector. As a consultant I worked at various companies including Barclays Global Investors (now BlackRock), BT, Midland HR and Carphone Warehouse

Working as a graduate developer I received premium training from the owner of the Uniface language, building relationships which lead to me being employed by Compuware.
