The position was scheduled to be eliminated as it was partly replaced by technology, so I didn't have much work to do (very few incoming calls and few clients to welcome, as they were directly met by their contacts with whom they had appointments).Preferring to adapt rather than be bored, I asked to help departments that needed it.I therefore worked for most of the departments present at the head office, performing various tasks:
- Writing letters, managing sending and receiving.
- Translating French/English documents.
- Providing support to the Purchasing, Communication, Sales, Logistics, IT, and HR departments.
- Welcoming and advising visitors.
- Managing schedules and booking meeting rooms.
This adaptability allowed me to subsequently obtain a position as a communications assistant at Umicore, after the receptionist position was eliminated.
