João Filipe Soares

I’m a Software Developer with a background in Computer Engineering and hands-on experience building scalable backend solutions and APIs in .NET, as well as developing digital products from the ground up.

Currently, I work as a Junior Developer at Natixis in Portugal, contributing to the development and maintenance of critical financial applications within a modern .NET environment. I’m involved across the software lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to ongoing support, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and code quality.

Alongside this role, I’m the CEO & Developer of Plain, a product I’m building from scratch. I lead the product vision while handling end-to-end development, combining entrepreneurship with hands-on full-stack development to deliver scalable and high-impact digital solutions.

My background also includes experience in Quality Assurance and technical support, which strengthened my analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Outside of tech, my role as a federated volleyball referee helped me develop strong decision-making, accountability, and communication skills under pressure.

Passionate about software engineering, technology, and design, I believe great products emerge from the intersection of solid architecture, clean code, and thoughtful user experience.
