◼ DYNATRACE EXTENSION: GET DATA FROM ELASTICSEARCH

- Developed an ActiveGate extension to obtain data from Elasticsearch, generating metric data points in Dynatrace, having Elasticsearch fields as dimensions.

- Extension built with flexibility in mind, allowing a custom ES|QL, frequency of execution, handling of pending states, and addition of custom metadata.

◼ DYNATRACE EXTENSION: CUSTOM FILESYSTEM

- Modified Filesystem extension to add a new feature: include individual file paths as dimension.

-This development adds great value and flexibility generating alerts, as we can use wildcards in directory, but having file details.

◼ DYNATRACE EXTENSION: WEBSERVICE STATUS

-Created an ActiveGate extension that checks the status of web service, to replace individual HTTP monitors.

-The challenge was that API response content changes often, so HTTP monitors were now suitable. The extension dynamically parses the content of the API response, generating metrics with several dimensions (status, service name, criticality).

-The extension manages Microsoft OAuth, having scopes and credentials passed from credential vault.

◼ OPENTELEMETRY COLLECTOR WITH CUSTOM RECEIVER

- Built a custom OpenTelemetry Collector, with focus in a custom developed receiver to obtain file stats, overcoming Dynatrace limitation to execute Filesystem extension in K8s environments.

◼ DYNATRACE BACKUP

- Developed a Python application, taking Dynatrace MONACO as key element, that performs backup of all Dynatrace configurations, permissions, groups, and policies. This solution provides administrators and end-users with a reliable recovery mechanism in the event of misconfigurations. Deployed as a Kubernetes CronJob, the application integrates seamlessly into CD/CI pipelines, enhancing operational resilience and system integrity.

◼ ONBOARDING AND ENABLEMENT (DYNATRACE/DATADOG)

- Successfully conducted the onboarding process of multiple teams into Dynatrace and Datadog, leading extensive training sessions to boost tool adoption and proficiency, complemented by a robust documentation foundation.

- Provided expert-level support and guidance in various scopes, including installation, troubleshooting, analysis, dashboard customization, and SRE strategies, thereby enhancing system performance coverage and user capability.

- Earned commendations for a clear and engaging teaching approach, as well as recognition from management for leadership and initiative in the accomplishment of tools adoption.

◼ DYNATRACE/DATADOG INTEGRATION ON A PAAS SOLUTION

- Contributed to the evolution of Dynatrace and Datadog integration on an in-house PaaS solution in a DevOps methodology, allowing complete observability with a simple key/value configuration on a file.

◼ OPENTELEMETRY SC4S (PoC)

- The main point of this project was to ditch SC4S (Splunk Connnector for Syslog) for a recent technology, allowing to run in containers outside VMs, ease of configuration changes, follow market standards, and greatly reducing costs due to filtering and cleaning of log content and/or entries.

- Achieved seamless integration for multiple network devices including Fortigate, Meraki, and Juniper, enabling routing to different indexes and source types from a single collector.

◼ CUSTOM SERVICENOW INTEGRATION

- Engineered a Python/FastAPI application to bypass the constraints of the native Dynatrace/ServiceNow integration, leading to full autonomy of business teams in configuring alerts with CMDB elements on Dynatrace.

◼ CRITICAL BUSINESS PROCESS MONITORING

- Employed monitoring, using functional SQL queries, over a business process accountable for approximately 80% of the company's revenue, which significantly reduced problem resolution time from weeks to just a few hours due to immediate problem detection, resulting in huge reduction in profit loss.

◼ EXPERT-LEVEL SUPPORT AND TRAINING

- Steered numerous training sessions targeting different profiles, empowering autonomy and awareness.

- Initiated and sustained a document base repository, both for team knowledge and end-user procedures.

◼ PIONEER OF AGILE METHODOLOGY

- Initiated the adoption of Agile practices within the team, establishing Jira workflows, organizing work into epics/stories/tasks, and their corresponding templating. Demonstrated the framework's substantial benefits on team performance and communication enhancement.

◼ MONITORING STRATEGY DEFINITION

- Established best practices, tagging rules, and nomenclature standards to optimize resource harmonization and usability, through a standard framework within the organization.

- Designed and deployed a targeted alerting strategy to meet the specific needs of various teams, both within the organization and external, including on-call schedules and partner's support.

- Developed tailored dashboards considering distinctive requirements of different roles, with accurate insight.
