Joana Rosa

I studied the degree in Art and Design at Escola Massana (Barcelona) and photography at IDEP school (Barcelona). Specializing in author photography, I have participated in national and international exhibitions with autobiographical themes. Lately, I have been researching video art, and the first work “Ding, Ding. Protocol. Lesson 1”, made with the group 𝑜𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑚𝑢𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑠, has been broadcast on Canal+, among others.

Seeking to reinforce a theoretical foundation after studies heavily focused on practice, I took the Independent Studies Program at the Museu d’Art Contemporani (PEI - Master's degree from MACBA, Barcelona), where I created and presented the thesis nomellamesdoloresllamamejoana, which was converted into a manifesto and performed at the Capella del MACBA to become part of the Oral Museum of the Revolution (MOR), a collective project carried out by the PEI-2013 students, directed by Paul B. Preciado at the Capella del MACBA.
