About Jean-Sébastien

Hello,

I have been developing applications for personal or volunteer purposes for about twenty years, and professionally for about a dozen years. I have been a freelance developer since 2018.

My background has allowed me to accumulate expertise in the following areas:

- Front-End development based on modern stacks (Laravel/Livewire/Alpine Js, React Js/Next Js, TypeScript, Vue Js, Svelte Kit)

- Application architecture (Stack selection, design, implementation of good programming practices (Design patterns, SOLID principles, unit and integration tests))

- Graphic integration (HTML5, Sass, Tailwind Bootstrap, Material UI) from major design tools (Figma, XD, Sketch)

- API and administration tool development (Laravel, Rust)

In parallel, I held a system administrator position from 2010 to 2016, so I have some experience in the following areas:

- System administration (Windows – Linux, virtual hypervisors) and DevOps knowledge

- Database management (SQL, MySql, PostGreSql, Firebase)

I am a creative person who needs novelty and challenges, and I would be more motivated by projects in creation or with significant technical challenges.

I wish you a good day

Sessile is a marketplace specialized in selling flowers. Florists registered on the platform can sell their products.

The marketplace is based on a WordPress - WooCommerce - WCF stack with many adaptations to the project's needs.

I regularly participate in improving or customizing functionalities and creating new features.

The main challenge on this project is to work within the WordPress environment; the plugins used are complex, and modifying them can be tedious. A refactor to a framework like Laravel is under discussion.

Full remote operation, I implemented a simplified scrum-like system with two-week sprints for tracking the progress of features and ongoing maintenance with project partners.

As part of my various missions, I participated in the following actions:

    • Development of front-end solutions - websites, marketplaces, back offices, and web applications. Stacks: (Laravel / Livewire / Alpine Js) || (React Js / Redux / tRpc / TypeScript, Next Js, Prisma) || Vue JS

    • Development of back-end solutions primarily on Laravel (Rest Api, etc...)
    • Database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB)

    • Design, prototyping (Figma, Sketch)
    • Graphic integration (HTML 5, SASS, Tailwind, Material UI, Bootstrap)

    • More occasionally, system administration (Windows - Linux, Hypervisors, containers) and DevOps: management of continuous integration and deployment pipelines (Docker, GitHub, GitLab, Circle CI, Capistrano)

I have always worked in full remote.

    TRANSPORTATION
    April 2020 - July 2021 (1 year and 4 months)
    Paris, France
Beetogreen is an electric bike marketplace. The stack used is Laravel for the back-end, React for the marketplace, and a Laravel/React/Livewire combo for the back office.

My main mission was to redesign the graphics of all pages and the payment flow of the marketplace, with a partial or complete redesign of the business logic. This mission was carried out in full remote, with two-week sprints.

We were two developers; the first primarily managed the back-end, and I was in charge of the front-end for the marketplace and the back-office. I had complete freedom in technical choices and feature design.
I worked on the back-end for my stories if I needed migrations or new APIs, and I was occasionally assigned to dedicated back-end stories.

The missions consisted of integrating new features, improving existing ones, and fixing bugs.

I also redesigned the Docker development and production containers and implemented front-end tests with Cypress Js.
