Jean-Philippe Prokosch

Within the Database Optimization team of the Platform team at Doctolib, I contributed to ensuring the reliability and performance of critical datastores in a high-traffic cloud-native environment. My main responsibilities included ensuring high availability for PostgreSQL/AWS Aurora, Kafka datastores, through observability, automation, and continuous improvement of processes. I actively participated in the maintenance of database infrastructures, including version upgrades, performance optimization, cost management, and capacity planning. As part of the transition to the "you build it, you run it" paradigm, I worked on empowering feature teams by developing tools, guidelines, and training for effective database management. My role included continuous technological monitoring of datastore evolution and knowledge sharing with the team on new features, best practices, and industry trends. I contributed to architectural choices for high-traffic web applications, particularly on the scalability challenges of large databases. This experience allowed me to develop in-depth expertise in Linux system administration, automation, and performance troubleshooting in a diverse technological environment serving Doctolib's mission to improve access to healthcare.
