About Jean-Charles

Product Designer (UX/UI) with 4 years of experience, specializing in the design of complex digital products (SaaS, business tools).
I have worked in demanding B2B environments (SNCF, Orange, RTE), where I designed interfaces to simplify complex systems and improve user operational efficiency.
Today, I wish to focus on products for the general public (B2C), with particular attention to user experience, interface clarity, and the emotional dimension of the product.
My experience as a Product Owner allows me to have a complete product vision: understanding business challenges, prioritization, close collaboration with technical teams, and delivery management.

👉️ What I do concretely:

• Design clear, useful, and engaging user experiences
• Transform complex problems into simple journeys
• Collaborate with PMs, developers, and stakeholders
• Iterate quickly through prototyping and testing

👉️ My expertise:

• UX design (research, journeys, user testing)
• UI design & prototyping (Figma)
• Design systems & UI delivery
• SaaS products & business tools
• Product collaboration (vision, prioritization, agile)

Overhaul of a critical order management and tracking application in a complex IT environment, replacing a legacy tool (E-Force) without disrupting usage.

The project began with a user research phase based on business interviews (RAC, ARC, ASCOM) and observation of real-world journeys via screen sharing. This phase identified several major pain points, including a lack of visibility in order tracking, information overload, and heavy reliance on multiple parallel tools.

Quantitative analysis using SUS questionnaires complemented this approach to evaluate the usability of existing solutions. The results confirmed the problems identified in the field.

Based on these findings, I contributed to structuring key user journeys and redesigning the information architecture, aiming to simplify and centralize data around a single view of the "deal."

UX/UI design then led to the definition of more readable and hierarchical interfaces, focusing on statuses and main actions. Mockups were prototyped and iterated in Figma in collaboration with the product and technical teams.

A lightweight component system was also implemented to ensure screen consistency and accelerate iterations.

Several rounds of user testing were conducted on the new journeys, validating design choices and identifying areas for improvement. Feedback was analyzed and prioritized using an impact/effort matrix to guide iterations.

Tests showed an average scenario success rate of 80% and an average usability score of 4/5.

Design of an internal IT request management tool (ticketing) for store and IT teams (multi-site retail environment).

    • Analysis of usage and identification of friction points through user interviews (employees, IT referents, multi-site managers)
    • Observation of field practices and workarounds (emails, phone, parallel tools)
    • Structuring of user journeys and modeling of the request lifecycle
    • Creation of personas and a complete UX Map (from need to resolution)
    • Facilitation of ideation workshops to define a product vision and align stakeholders

    • Definition of a UX strategy focused on simplifying requests, transparency of tracking, and improved prioritization
    • Highlighting key pain points (lack of tracking, limited ergonomics, absence of critical features)

    • Production of structuring deliverables to guide product evolution (vision, priorities, opportunities)
    • Approach focused on simplifying journeys and improving user experience, similar to B2C standards

Design of a white-label web platform for managing railway safety, occupational health, and certifications within SNCF (PADME solution).

This product centralizes critical data related to safety (SEF), occupational health and safety (SST), and the tracking of certifications and regulatory controls.

I acted as the sole UX designer on the project, alongside a Product Owner and two developers, throughout the entire product design cycle.

The project began with a needs refinement phase with the Product Owner, clarifying and challenging business expectations, and structuring the functional scope.

I then designed and facilitated several co-design workshops with end-users (employees, managers, support functions), both in-person and remotely. These workshops produced user journeys, quick wireframes, and collectively prioritized needs.

Proposals were then presented to the product and technical teams to ensure functional alignment and feasibility of the envisioned solutions.

The design phase involved producing high-fidelity interfaces and interactive prototypes, while progressively improving the initially defined visual identity. Particular attention was paid to consistency across the platform's different modules.

User testing cycles were conducted with business units to quickly iterate on journeys and incorporate field feedback.

The main modules designed include document tracking (periodic reviews, memos, letters), a collaborative calendar for event and audit planning, and dashboards for monitoring safety, health, and certification indicators.
