Javi Olalla

My name is Javi Olalla and I am a graphic designer and illustrator with over a decade of experience in the sector. Throughout these years, I have worked in both print and digital design, which has allowed me to have a broad and versatile vision of the profession.

My training began in Bilbao, where I started my design studies, and I later completed them in Barcelona, at the prestigious design school ELISAVA. This academic period allowed me to acquire a solid foundation in various design disciplines and develop a creative approach that I continue to apply in every project.

After finishing my studies, I began my professional career in several communication agencies in Bilbao. Shortly after, I decided to move to the Netherlands, where I had the opportunity to grow as an independent professional and start my freelance career. That period provided me with valuable international experience and allowed me to work with clients from very diverse backgrounds.

I am currently living back in Bilbao, where I continue to work as a freelance designer for companies in different sectors. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with brands and organizations such as Coordonne, in the decorative design area; Storytel and CDmon, developing online marketing campaigns; or the USVA Cultural Center in Groningen, where I participated in cultural communication projects.

Today, a large part of my work focuses on design for industrial and service companies. The most common projects I participate in include the design of corporate catalogs, packaging, boxes and industrial labeling, as well as the creation of images and content for social media, mainly focused on business promotion.

I am passionate about design as a communication tool and I enjoy creating pieces that are not only attractive but also serve a clear purpose and add value to each client.

As a graphic designer and 3D infographic artist at an advertising agency in Bilbao, I supported the creative team in developing both 2D and 3D visual materials for various campaigns. My tasks included layout of print and digital pieces, creation of graphics for social media, and production of 3D models and renders for client presentations or proposals. I was also responsible for preparing final artwork and participating in brainstorming sessions, contributing visual and technical ideas. I worked under the supervision of senior designers and art directors, which allowed me to gain experience and ensure visual consistency in each project.

As a junior graphic designer at Suministros de imagen, I supported the creative team in developing visual pieces for different campaigns. My tasks included layout of print and digital materials, adapting designs to various formats, and creating graphics for social media. I was also responsible for preparing final artwork and participating in brainstorming sessions, where I contributed creative ideas and approaches. I worked under the supervision of senior designers and art directors, which allowed me to learn and grow professionally while ensuring visual consistency in each of the agency's projects.
