About Jason

jason-boussioux.com

I trained at theENS Louis-Lumièreand on the **Screenwriting Master's program at Nanterre University**, and I work on fiction, documentary, and branded content projects.

Based in Paris, Perpignan, and Seattle.
I am an equipped cinematographer, awarded in France and internationally.

My Style
I look for those moments when reality becomes imbued with mystery: when you feel something before you understand it. I compose with elements that convey emotion in a sensory, atmospheric, poetic way: in my writing, my cinematography, or my directing. I like images that make you feel warm, that let you sense the air, the humidity, the snow, the dust, the brush of skin against skin, the immensity of the sky, or the glare of a neon sign in the night. I want our senses to be awakened, and from that shiver, to give birth to the strange, the fantastical, or the marvelous.

What I Like to Write
My projects explore family dynamics, transmission, biodiversity, and regional cultures. I like writing about musicians, artists, teachers, souls lost in vast cities, those who dream of being explorers and dare to listen to their obsessions.
I weave humor, music, and a strong taste for adventure through my narratives! I enjoy stories about identity quests, stories where characters set out to find something – a secret, an origin, a truth – and discover themselves along the way. I often blend genres: comedy, drama, noir, fantasy.

Where I Come From
I grew up in the garrigue of Roussillon, cycling under oak and pine trees in the blazing sun. My childhood was spent inventing adventures between the sea and mountains, searching for fossils and quartz in the vineyards, photographing stars and birds, and catching butterflies.
My imagination as an author and my desire for cinema were born from this natural environment, from these Goonies-like treasure hunts, nourished by comic books, tales of fantastic journeys, and exploration novels.

“You can’t make certain fabrics do what you want it do. It will tell you how it wants to be draped or cut. You have to listen.” Following on from System Stories’ third episode of ‘In Conversation’ featuring John Galliano, Creative Director of Maison Margiela and Anders Christian Madsen, journalist and collaborator of Margiela, System invited leading European schools – L'Institut Français de la Mode in Paris, La Cambre Modes in Brussels, Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and of course Galliano’s alma mater Central Saint Martins in London – to select eight MA fashion design students to Maison Margiela’s HQ in Paris for a masterclass in creativity. The students were invited to ask Galliano questions prompting a discussion about his creative process, how to make a commercial product while staying true to your vision and the importance of building a team that you can trust. They also had the opportunity to show Galliano inspirational objects of their choosing. The group were also joined by Margiela house muses Valentine Charrasse and Thomas Riguelle, who work closely with Galliano on shaping their movement and character narrative that contributed to the Artisanal show in January. Together, a dialogue about unfettered creativity unfolded.
