  • Rohde und Schwarz
    FPGA Developer
    September 2024 - July 2025 (10 months)
    ‣ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
System component analysis formed the foundation of the project, involving an in-depth examination of all relevant FPGA components of communication systems. This comprehensive analysis included the evaluation of FPGA modules, signal processing blocks, communication interfaces, and their interactions within the FPGA architecture to develop a complete understanding of the implemented system logic and identify critical optimization points. The creation of customized test systems represented a central area of work, where test environments specifically tailored to the requirements of FPGA communication systems were designed and implemented. These test systems were developed to enable both isolated component tests and complex system integration tests, while being able to replicate realistic operating conditions. A particularly demanding area of responsibility involved the systematic expansion of the open-source software UVVM with a variety of Verification Components (VVCs) for both proprietary and public communication systems. VVCs were developed for established standards such as I2S (Inter-IC Sound) as well as for customer-specific proprietary protocols to ensure comprehensive test coverage of various communication interfaces. Coordination between the test and development departments required the establishment of efficient communication channels and workflows to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and alignment of test requirements with development goals. This interface function also included the standardization of verification processes and the establishment of common quality standards for all project participants.
  • Automobilkonzern Stutgart
DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER INFOTAINMENT SOFTWARE SYSTEM AND CONTROL UNITS IN THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR
    September 2023 - Today (2 years and 9 months)
    ‣ PROJECT OVERVIEW
In an automotive project, I implemented the design of PLC control units and the development of a secure SDK and framework for interaction with the onboard computer, including physically accurate simulations for application development without actual hardware.
    ‣ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The project resulted in the successful design of PLC control units and the development of a secure SDK and framework for interaction with the onboard computer. Third-party providers can develop specialized applications and test them without real hardware thanks to physically accurate simulations.
    ‣ ACHIEVEMENTS & IMPACT
As the lead for vehicle communication, I was responsible for the implementation in C++. Additionally, I led the successful integration into an overlying RUST subproject, which was developed by my team and me. I integrated the project into the company's embedded Linux pipeline, based on Yocto. In the hardware area, I developed the concept for the control unit.
