Jakob Damen

My name is Jakob and I have been working as a software engineer for over three years, primarily in .NET and Python. For a long time, I worked at a software company in Amsterdam specializing in IT for the pharmaceutical industry. Here, I built an application in .NET that optimizes and models clinical studies, or more simply put: an application that tells you what it looks like and how expensive it is to bring new medication to market (e.g., a new corona vaccine). Furthermore, I also automated the software testing process (back-end and front-end) here.

Additionally, I have set up two small software companies. One is a web tool in Python for Bol.com sellers that easily shows the market potential of new products. The other is a desktop application in .NET for restaurants and food stores that provides easy and visual insight into your profit margins. Ideal if you are struggling with rising food prices due to inflation and other geopolitical issues.

A bit more about myself: I completed my bachelor's in Applied Earth Sciences at TU Delft and am now pursuing my master's in Quantitative Marketing and Business Analytics (Data Science) at Erasmus University. I also pick things up quickly and am very eager to learn. I also find it enjoyable and important to think along with the client so that we can arrive at the best solution together.
