- Hopital PasteurZazen MeditationMEDICALNovember 2016 - May 2017 (6 months)Colmar, FrancePractice of zazen meditation within the psychiatry department of Colmar hospital (Dr. Guingand and Meyer). The group includes patients and members of the healthcare team. Sessions last 1 hour and include seated practice and kinhin walking.Recent literature (mainly Anglo-Saxon) describes the interest of meditation practice in psychiatric or psychological disorders, particularly those related to stress. For example, the meta-analysis published by Goyal et al. in JAMA (2014; 174(3):357-368) describes the positive effects observed in patients suffering from depression, anxiety, addiction, or anorexia. The neurobiological mechanisms involved in meditation are described by Mohandas, E (Mens Sana Monogr. 2008; 6(1): 63-80), particularly at the level of the prefrontal and parietal cortex.
