About Jacques

#ReadytoHelp

I am a doctor, a specialist in neuroscience, and have been practicing zazen meditation for several years privately and within companies/hospitals.
After several years of research in the field of neuroscience, I found that my training in Chinese medicine and at the Faculty of Medicine of Strasbourg complemented meditation practice and could be spectacularly beneficial to companies!
Within the framework of quality of life at work, I lead zazen meditation within companies of various sizes (SMEs, mid-sized companies, large enterprises) and with varied activities (services, industry). I bring a new approach to managers: neuromanagement, based on how the brain functions.

What is zazen meditation?
  • sitting in silence, facing the wall, present
  • eliminates doubt when faced with the question "stress or performance?"
  • meditation brings value to the company, a new image, calm management.
  • meditating means allowing oneself a moment of non-reaction, non-evaluation of a thought or emotion, non-attachment to the past or future
  • encouraging attention to oneself, to others
  • Do not doubt your skills

Why meditate?
  • reduce the effects of stress,
  • free oneself from judgment (of oneself and others)
* improve attention and concentration skills
  • optimize performance in one's job
  • harmony with oneself, one's environment, one's commitments, and strengthen team cohesion
  • be fully present, better attention to the task
  • adapt skills to a changing environment
* foster benevolence within the team
* improve sleep quality
  • training in the prevention of psychosocial risks (stress, burnout, anxiety, depression)

Practice of zazen meditation within the production units of GE Power (+ formerly Alsthom). The group of 10 participants consists of people from different divisions and various socio-professional categories.
Previously, I gave a conference on meditation and neuroscience (influence of meditation on brain function), including the historical aspects of zazen and its energetic effects (described according to traditional Chinese medicine criteria).
Among the benefits obtained, we can mention:
*fostering benevolence within the team, freeing oneself from judgment (of oneself and others),
    *fully expressing one's skills
*reducing the effects of stress, optimizing performance in one's job,
    *improving attention and concentration skills.
*being in harmony with oneself, one's environment, one's commitments, and strengthening team cohesion.
Following these sessions, an article was published in the company newsletter.

    November 2016 - May 2017 (6 months)
    Colmar, France
Practice of zazen meditation within the psychiatry department of Colmar hospital (Dr. Guingand and Meyer). The group includes patients and members of the healthcare team. Sessions last 1 hour and include seated practice and kinhin walking.
Recent literature (mainly Anglo-Saxon) describes the interest of meditation practice in psychiatric or psychological disorders, particularly those related to stress. For example, the meta-analysis published by Goyal et al. in JAMA (2014; 174(3):357-368) describes the positive effects observed in patients suffering from depression, anxiety, addiction, or anorexia. The neurobiological mechanisms involved in meditation are described by Mohandas, E (Mens Sana Monogr. 2008; 6(1): 63-80), particularly at the level of the prefrontal and parietal cortex.
