Iván Caíña

Hello, I'm Iván Caíña and I'm passionate about letters.

I am a graphic designer, specializing in Calligraphy and lettering, so in all my works, the letter plays a leading role.

I spend my days surrounded by brushes, inks, papers… and always with the same goal, to experiment with calligraphy and lettering to try to move the reader through one of my pieces, whether it's work; brands, agencies or clients, I paint a mural or I develop some of my more personal projects.

I approach both my commissions and my projects with technique and expressiveness, I work so that each of my pieces excites and communicates without the need for any other graphic element.

This thing about letters is vocational, from years ago and before training in graphic design.

It all started with graffiti 15 years ago and evolved over the years, always keeping learning, rigor, humility, and constancy, which for me are the fundamental pillars for a job well done.

My concern for design in all its aspects; art, architecture, photography, fashion… provides me with all the visual stimuli necessary to then project them into my work.

My work has always been involved in experimental processes, taking advantage of all these visual resources, thus basing my work on three key processes; observation, experimentation, and final execution.

In addition to the daily work in my studio, I also dedicate myself to teaching by giving workshops throughout Spain, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with students of all kinds; illustrators, designers, tattoo artists… and with anyone who wants to learn a little from me.
