About Irène

I offer my translation services (French-English-Malagasy) because translation, a complex activity, is an integral part of both my university education (Master's degree) and my professional practice (certified English teacher).

I am firmly convinced that translation involves a perfect understanding of the source text and the ability to produce a faithful rendition in the target language.
That is why I do not content myself with consulting collections, dictionaries, or digital translators. I value human intelligence, despite the great technological advances that have facilitated and intensified all sorts of exchanges between the different actors in society. Hence my essential role as a translator.

Indeed, only the translator is capable of conscious thought, reasoning, and conveying emotions, just as they are the only ones able to discover the underlying theme of the text and its intra-textual links.
They remain the only ones able to resolve ambiguities, manipulate words, make choices, classify terms, determine language levels and registers, as well as refer to chronological and verbal tenses.
Unlike a machine, as a human being, I remain sensitive to the various aspects of language. This allows me to translate logically, correctly, and appropriately.

In the translation work I wish to offer you, I will be careful to produce a coherent translation that is faithful to the source text. I therefore commit to adopting a rigorous approach that takes into account all aspects of the two languages, which must be mastered at an equivalent level (history, culture, customs, lifestyle, thoughts, etc.).
In addition to projects related to my initial training as a teacher, I can also work on various themes of social life: women's rights, children's rights, environmental respect, health, tourism, catering, etc.
