Filmed between Paris and Pointe à Pitre in Guadeloupe, "Coaching Princesse" follows a promising young athlete and her dedicated coach, who fights to offer her the best training conditions, in the hope that she will join a top American university.
The film addresses the themes of perseverance, inequality and the strength of mentoring in a context of underfunding.
I was in charge of the visual identity of the film, with the aim of capturing both the physical intensity of the training and the intimate relationship between the protagonists.
The film won the Grand Prize for Best Documentary at the Nouveaux Regards Festival in Guadeloupe.
