I was hired as CIO of Tahiti Airport to:

- create an Information Systems Department

- provide a vision and master plan for the company's IT systems to the Management Committee

- effectively respond to IT requests from internal employees, the Management Committee, partners, and external clients

To achieve this, I applied my skills to:

- create a team of five qualified individuals whom I manage using an agile approach

- create an international standard server room

- implement a virtualized server and storage infrastructure

- implement a Wi-Fi infrastructure with 75 access points and four redundant controllers

- draft and manage a tender document (CCTP, CCAP, RC) for the replacement of the airport's aeronautical activity management software (scheduling, tracking, billing, statistics, and flight display)

- ensure compliance with security requirements issued by competent state authorities

- ensure actions aimed at compliance with ISO9001 standard

- understand the needs of the IT department's external clients (site occupants, airlines) and propose tailored services through customized service contracts

- implement a project management methodology

- prepare, monitor, and adhere to the IT department's budget

Air Tahiti approached me to propose a comprehensive service to establish the foundations of their new Java development environment.

In this capacity, I trained the development teams in the Java language, commonly used design patterns, modular development architectures, and Agile development principles (test-first, continuous integration, code coverage). Training materials specifically created for this purpose, along with practical exercises, formed the core of this training.

I then oversaw the implementation of the development framework using a Maven module infrastructure and Spring components, with a module for database access and data modeling via Hibernate. Modules were also developed for accessing Web Services specific to the client's business.

Finally, a web application was developed using the Vaadin framework to demonstrate the possibilities of application creation.

Later, after my assignment, I observed that Air Tahiti's development teams had fully taken control of this development infrastructure and had initiated a new project with the Angular framework.

After an in-depth study of their core business and available applications, I proposed a new software architecture to the Polynesian Housing Office (OPH) and proved its effectiveness by developing a prototype. One of the most innovative aspects of this architecture was that its definition was based on a UML model graphically describing the company's data, all animated according to the MDA or "Model Driven Architecture" approach.

The new software architecture is based on the Java language and uses AndroMDA as the MDA engine and Vaadin as the rich web application development framework. I also suggested a user-needs-driven methodology using dynamic use cases, accessible internally via an XWiki installation. These use cases progressively defined the project's functional scope. All developed human-machine interfaces were integrated into a closed software solution used by the company for its main business management. I also developed applications dedicated to importing existing data into the new architecture.

This project has been delivered and is currently in production. The company's internal team has been trained to ensure its maintenance and evolution independently.
