About Hazem

🎯 Passionate about Data and automation, with over 18 years of experience.

Senior freelance Data & BI Consultant, with nearly 20 years of experience, including 13 years in the insurance sector.

Specialist in the Microsoft ecosystem (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, SQL Server, MSBI). I support large companies in setting up modern Data platforms, from architecture to the industrialization of processes.

I regularly work on high-volume environments requiring resilient architecture, optimized data models, and high-performance pipelines. I have also led projects for complete data pipeline redesigns and the construction of Data platforms from scratch.

🚀 My areas of expertise are:
- Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL Server, SQL Database, Power BI
- ETL, ELT Tools (Data Factory, SSIS)
- DataViz (Power BI, SSRS)
- Migration of On-Premise Data solutions to Azure
- Data architecture and best practices

⚡ I have developed several generic modules that assist me in my work:
✔️ A data copy framework between DBs (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL...)
-- Local Version: SSIS, C#
-- Cloud Version: Data Factory, T-SQL
✔️ Export of DB data to Excel
✔️ Power BI User log (via Power BI API)
✔️ Power BI Embedded

Experience

  • Groupe Bouygues
    Data Consultant – Microsoft Fabric
    TELECOMMUNICATIONS
    August 2025 - Today (10 months)
    Paris, France
    🎯 Context:
As part of a Data transformation program within Bouygues Holding, I took on the role of Lead Data Engineer to implement a decision-making platform based on Microsoft Fabric, aiming to centralize and validate group purchasing data from heterogeneous sources.

    ⚙️ Challenges:
    - Contribution to a strategic POC for a tender, which validated the Microsoft Fabric solution and won the contract.
    - Transitioning the POC to an industrialized production solution.
    - Development of AI use cases for processing and structuring purchasing and supplier data.

    🛠️ Achievements:
    🔹 POC (tender)
    - Execution of a POC on Microsoft Fabric (ingestion, transformation, Power BI reporting).
    - Consolidation of purchasing data provided by the client.
    - Creation of a demonstration Power BI dashboard.
👉 Result: Solution validation and winning the tender.
    🔹 Industrialization
    - Design of a Data architecture on Microsoft Fabric.
    - Implementation of automated ingestion pipelines via configuration tables.
    - Development of a pipeline monitoring module (logs, errors, statuses).
    🔹 AI (Azure OpenAI)
    - Implementation of AI solutions (Embeddings + GPT).
    - Automatic matching of purchasing/supplier repositories.
    - Extraction of information from documents (PDF, scans, Word).

    📊 Results
    - Implementation of an industrialized Fabric Data Platform from scratch.
    - Improved quality of purchasing/supplier repositories through AI.
    - Significant reduction in document processing time (from manual to a few minutes).
    - Centralization and validation of group purchasing data for business steering.

    TECH
    August 2025 - December 2025 (4 months)
    Massy, France
Context: L-acoustics migrated its BI solution to Microsoft Fabric but encountered difficulties in monitoring and supervising pipeline execution.

Mission 1: Design a Power BI monitoring and alerting dashboard to centralize process tracking and improve operational visibility.

    • Mapping the infrastructure and data flows to identify failure points.
    • Design and development of a monitoring model based on Fabric and Power BI APIs to automate execution tracking, alerts, and report generation.
    • Results: Centralized pipeline monitoring, reduced incident analysis time, and improved BI production control.
Mission 2: Redesign the data loading part by integrating a Data Framework that allows:
    • Automatic retrieval of source metadata when connecting to DBMS (Oracle, Sql Server, PostgreSql, MySQL: automatic cataloging of objects, schemas, types, and structures).
    • Generation of SQL code for creating tables, views, and stored procedures.
    • Configuration and automation of pipelines for populating the different layers of the Data Lake and Data Warehouse.
    • Fine-grained logging of all pipeline stages (start, progress, errors, execution time).
