Charging stations are connected to the central platform via routers from the LyconSys family via OpenVPN. This makes the stations accessible even if they are installed behind firewalls. Some of the stations are connected via UMTS routers, also from the LyconSys family. The platform is accessed via REST-based web services, and external service providers can query data for, e.g., geo-services. Techniques such as Python, Bash, MySQL, and PHP were used. Programming of charging station control on embedded Linux devices in Python. Crossbar and microservices were used to display real-time charging data. Telephone-based activation of charging processes via SIP-gate and an Asterisk server.
