    This work has evaluated the economic viability of a wind-solar self-consumption electricity installation for a private home, in the new context that the recent approval in Spain of Royal Decree 244/2019, of April 5, has meant for these types of installations.

    The use of technologies such as PowerShell, MongoDB, R, and Python has allowed us to collect (from reliable open data sources such as AEMET OpenDanta, PVGIS, ERA-Interim, REE eSIOS, etc.), store, manipulate, analyze, and visualize data related to: the wind and solar resources available at home, the electricity consumption patterns therein, the price of energy (both consumed and produced), and the installation costs.

    The combination of this data has revealed the suitability of a purely solar installation in this case. However, this same data indicates that a wind or hybrid installation can also be an economically viable option.
