About Guillaume

🔧 Systems & Networks Engineer, entrepreneur, and passionate about cybersecurity, I support SMEs, mid-sized companies, and large corporations in the design, security, and operation of critical infrastructures. Founder of SYIT, I work on complex projects in industrial, cloud, or multi-site environments, with a strong requirement for reliability and performance.

đŸ›Ąïž Specializing in firewalling (FortiGate, Mikrotik), VPN (WireGuard, IPsec, OpenVPN), authentication (RADIUS, AzureAD SSO), I have designed multi-VRF VPN backbones for operators and data collection stakeholders. I also integrate supervision, redundancy, and Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity solutions on a virtualized platform (Proxmox, VMware, private datacenter/OVH).

🏭 My references cover the plastics, wood, energy, logistics, and critical services industries. Notably, I have:
‱ Redone the video network and Active Directory for a CAC40 group
‱ Migrated 1500 VMs from a scale-up to a high-availability Proxmox architecture
‱ Hosted blockchain, ERP, internal AI, or government GIS platforms
‱ Built a mobile 4G collection backbone with dynamic routing, supervision, and operator firewalling.

🌐 I design robust solutions, adapted to both field challenges and strategic needs. My approach combines rigor, listening, and pragmatism to deliver simple, secure, and scalable infrastructures.

✅ Autonomous, N2 Chemistry certified (SEVESO), I am comfortable on-site or remotely, in management or technical execution roles.

🎯 Industrial video infrastructure, supervision, and secure network – Intervention in a critical environment (TotalEnergies)

As part of a partnership with a security integrator, I was deployed as a systems and networks engineer on several SEVESO-classified industrial sites for the TotalEnergies group.

My interventions covered hardware diagnostics, critical service recovery, and network reconfiguration of the video surveillance infrastructure, including Milestone XProtect, Evitech Jaguar systems, and Stormshield firewalls. I restored a video cluster following a major hardware failure, ensuring disk replacement, BIOS diagnostics, and firmware updates via iDRAC.

On the network side, I ensured the restoration and stability of IP video streams (ONVIF / RSTP), the configuration of VLANs on access switches, and correct integration into the site's addressing plan. I also reinstalled a video supervision workstation at the guard post, with appropriate control tools and custom configuration.

I coordinated technically with local teams (TotalEnergies, SPIE, service providers) to maintain service continuity during critical phases, while producing complete documentation and operational feedback for future interventions.

🧠 Virtualization, data collection, operator backbone, and network infrastructure – Technical expertise for a regional hosting provider and operator

Within a hosting provider and operator based in the Lyon region, I played a central role in the deployment and management of virtualization farms on a Proxmox platform, with high availability, supervision, and a backup policy adapted for multi-client hosting.

I participated in the technical management of an international economic intelligence player, whose infrastructure comprised over 2000 physical and virtual servers (Ganetti, Xen, Elasticsearch, Proxmox). I performed massive VM conversions from Xen to KVM, updated kernels, orchestrated live migrations, and maintained network compatibility during hypervisor switches.

On the network layer, I designed and implemented 4G collection backbones, integrating L2TP, IPsec, and WireGuard tunnels with centralized supervision. I also developed SD-WAN architectures, adapted multi-site addressing plans, and integrated security into Fortinet environments with VDOMs, ensuring consistency of inter-zone rules.

On the field side, I performed datacenter interventions (migrations, expansions, diagnostics), designed distribution infrastructures for end clients (Cisco, Unifi), and led 4G/5G base station deployments in various technical contexts.

Finally, I supported sales teams as a pre-sales engineer, providing network and system expertise in responding to client needs, drafting technical proposals, and dimensioning critical infrastructures.

📡 4G/5G router development, firmware R&D, and network integration – Embedded telecom and supervision expertise

At an innovative telecom solutions manufacturer, I was responsible for developing dual-operator 4G/5G routers within international collaborative research and development projects. I participated in defining product architecture, writing and optimizing embedded firmwares, ensuring their network robustness, fine-grained failover management, and integration of advanced flow aggregation and prioritization technologies (multi-WAN, load-balancing, QoS).

I also designed and implemented virtualized network solutions, adapted for constrained environments, with integrated supervision logic. This included setting up probes, monitoring tools, and maintenance scripts to ensure high availability and traceability of network behavior.

My role extended to integrating information systems following an acquisition, ensuring the merger of technical environments (networks, messaging, IT infrastructure) in a secure and industrialized framework. This phase required strong inter-team coordination, project management capabilities, and particular attention to service continuity.

In summary, this experience allowed me to consolidate my skills at the interface of product R&D, embedded networks, IT infrastructure, and operational management, in a demanding context combining technological innovation, agility, and industrial requirements.
