Data Processing:Development and maintenance of PySpark jobs on Databricks for processing billing data

Event-Driven Architecture:Use of bus with eventbridge for inter-project communication

Exposure APIs:Development of Python lambdas to expose data via secure REST APIs

    Main Activities:

Ensure corrective and evolutionary maintenance of the entire platform
Optimize existing data pipelines and develop new features.
Refactor code to improve reusability and maintainability.
Manage deployments via CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and resolve production incidents
Contribute to the standardization of data development practices within the team

Technologies Used:Python, PySpark, Databricks, Terraform, AWS (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS, api gateway), Git,Copilot

This mission requires deep technical expertise in data engineering and the ability to work across the entire data stack, from ingestion to data exposure.

    Data Engineer
    January 2022 - August 2024 (2 years and 8 months)
    Écully, France
Groupe Seb is an appliance retailer. I worked in the 'data consumer solution' domain team, which aims to provide and analyze consumer data. Helping sales teams understand the impact of their campaigns, identify missed opportunities, measure the effectiveness of applications and websites, or the success of products.

Six Data Engineers in the domain, about twenty in total (a weekly meeting for inter-domain data engineers). The domain comprises about thirty people, including data stewards, data scientists, product owners, Google Analytics experts, etc.

The organization was collaborative, and the managers were attentive, which allowed me to participate in cross-functional projects. I also initiated cross-functional projects (responding to a need).

    Missions:
    • Taking over existing projects, enriching them, and migrating them to an enterprise framework.
    • Modularizing code and project components. Adding unit tests.
    • Presenting certain technical sessions and contributing to common company code and the data mesh architecture being implemented.
    • Improving the performance of certain Spark jobs, sometimes dramatically.
    • Assisting with project architecture and/or debugging.
    • Improving Jenkins workflows. Improving certain Ansible roles programmed to generate files in S3 from REST APIs.

    Technical Environment:

Methodologies:Scrum with Kanban on Jira. My tools: git, Jira, Teams, IntelliJ, draw.io, Postman
AWS Tools:Step Functions, Glue, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Fargate, IAM roles and policies, AWS terminal, ECS
Technical Stack:Spark, Scala, Java, Python, Ansible, Jenkins, Jira, Docker, Java multi-threading
