With over 1,300 employees, 45 branches, and €300 million in revenue, the group supports companies and local authorities in modernizing and securing their Information Systems.

I joined the inherent group as a DevOps Engineer, attached to the Unyc SRE team, to support the complete migration of the internal Information System to a new private cloud based on OpenStack.

My main missions as a DevOps Engineer:

- Migration of internal applications and servers to an OpenStack private cloud with dependency management and deployment process optimization, deployment of Talos on Kubernetes Clusters.

- Deployment and administration of on-premise Kubernetes clusters on OpenStack to host business applications.

- Design and deployment of an on-premise AI agent (Kagent, Milvus) on Kubernetes to automate the creation of GitLab Merge Requests and Jira tickets during updates of Helm charts and Terraform modules,

- Creation of custom Helm charts to facilitate and ensure the reliability of application migration to the private Kubernetes cloud.

- Implementation of an observability solution (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) to monitor migration quality and ensure the performance of new environments.

- Deployment and automation of HashiCorp Boundary for centralized and secure management of IT system resource access (infrastructure as code via Terraform and Ansible).

The Minister of Ecological Transition implements the Government's policy in the fields of sustainable development, environment, and climate. It has a staff of 40,000 civil servants with a budget of 26 billion euros.

I joined the team in charge of the Ministry's internal Gitlab. The team consists of 5 people:

- 3 DevOps

- 1 Lead Tech

- 1 PO

As a DevOps Engineer, I performed the following tasks:

- Deployment and Administration using Ansible of a Gitlab solution CE used by the ministry's developers (Gitlab CE, NGINX)

- Deployment and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters (RKE2, OpenStack Magnum) with Terraform and Ansible, used to manage the ministry's Gitlab runner fleet.

- Administration of an outgoing proxy Squid used by gitlab-runners

- Planning and creation of an Openstack Cloud infrastructure.

- Migration of the infrastructure to another ministerial Openstack hosting

- Deployment and management of a fleet of gitlab-runners with Helm, and ArgoCD (GitOps).

- Creation and maintenance of Ansible playbooks and modules, used to manage various application servers (Gitlab, Vault, Consul)

- Creation and management of Terraform code (IaC) to manage the infrastructure of different environments

- Creation and maintenance of Openstack Terraform modules used by the product team as well as by the ministry's DevOps community.

- Implementation of an observability solution (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Fluentbit, Promtail, Grafana Alloy)

- Creation of DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines for Terraform

- Administration of HashiCorp Vault with Consul backend

- Migration of Openstack HEAT IaC code to Terraform

- Writing various bash scripts for Linux administration

RAS Interim is a company in the temporary employment sector, with over 200 agencies in France and 400 in Europe, serving 7,000 companies. It has existed since 1969 and has a turnover of over 50 million euros.

I joined the digital pole. The team consisted of 20 people, and recruitments were underway to increase staff numbers.

The first task was the transition of applications to Docker and supporting developers in using this technology.

I am now working on migrating production environments to containerized application deployment solutions.

As a DevOps Engineer, I participated in the following tasks:

• Migration of an application from Elastic Beanstalk hosting to Amazon Elastic Container Service, writing deployment pipelines

• Creation and improvement of Github and Gitlab pipelines

• Creation of Docker images and local development stacks

• Support for teams on the use of Docker tools and existing CI/CD processes

• Operational maintenance (MCO) and improvement of internal tools deployed with Ansible
