About Florence

Graphic designer specializing in children's publishing, I work on the creation and production of layouts for covers, interior pages, and inserts, as well as the design of communication materials.
I am described as calm, efficient, fast, reliable, rigorous, creative, pleasant, joyful, and optimistic.

My professional life began in 1991 in a printing company. My position was created to replace lead typesetting. I learned a great deal from all these techniques that have now disappeared.

I then chose a permanent contract in a graphic design studio specializing in educational publishing. My job was to create books for children. It was a revelation! I had fun and reveled in all the cheerful and colorful illustrations, each more beautiful than the last. Thanks to a "old school" Swiss-German boss, I learned rigor and developed my creativity.

After 7 years, the world of advertising called to me. I needed novelty, uncertainty, and to test my professional abilities. I resigned to work in communication agencies on a temporary basis. I was launched into a whirlwind of fantasy, speed, and adaptation. Then I finally accepted a permanent contract in an agency, which laid me off 2 years later, following the loss of its main client.

Happy and strengthened by these experiences in advertising, I realized that what I truly enjoyed was children's publishing, for its playful and colorful aspect. That was the click! I wanted to immerse myself again in the world of children's books. I then accepted a position at Pocket Jeunesse, where I was very happy for 9 years, until I felt the need for freedom. In a few months, the fear of resigning gave way to immense joy. And so, I took the big leap towards more autonomy in May 2015, while continuing my collaboration with the wonderful PKJ team.
