Erwan Maitre is a young Freelance Photographer and Design Draftsman by profession. He is 31 years old and has been living in Montpellier since 2013.
Erwan started photography in 2007 in his hometown, Limoges, by taking photos in nightclubs.
This is not an ideal place to start taking photos, especially considering the current evolution of his work. He began to take an interest in portraits and landscapes in 2010, when he moved to Paris, while continuing to take photos in various nightlife venues across France.
Erwan did not take private lessons; he learned to master his photographic equipment on his own to achieve the desired results, always trying to maintain a style true to his personality. He was inspired by the work of renowned photographers such as Stephen Wilkes (author of the "Day to Night" project published in National Geographic), as well as the American wedding photographer Ryan Brenizer. These two photographers helped him adopt a new approach to photography through various techniques, bringing more life to his shots.
Why did he choose the world of photography? For Erwan, it all started with a simple emotion, a feeling. He is a lover of memories and the message conveyed by each photograph. This is truly what triggered his investment in this passion.
