Élise Vandel

Observing the photographs of photographer Dorothée Lebrun, listening to her words, I was asked by director Isabelle Dugied to develop a presentation text for her photographic work. It is a particular writing exercise to write an artist's statement for presentation to the readership of this soon-to-be-published book. Artistic knowledge, aesthetic appreciation, attention to others, rigor in transcribing their words, synthesis: these are all elements I enjoy working with when called upon to put an artist's work into words.

Within and around the Saint-Cyprien Cultural Center, a Writing Journey is being developed, a contemporary, long-term approach to exploring the neighborhood, its strengths, and its hidden aspects, through workshops that welcome curious individuals to discover themselves in the texts they write and read.

This Journey spans the year and becomes a regular event in the heart of this neighborhood, connecting with its residents and the Center.

Words, and the words of eroticism, allow access to a very important creative facet of every individual, provided they are willing to explore it. For three years, Capucine Moreau gave me the opportunity to lead very unique, innovative writing workshops, both in person and online.

This was a very enriching experience for the design and facilitation of my workshops.
