Elisabeth Scherrer

A journalist, then an author and director for 16 years, Elisabeth Scherrer has directed numerous reports and documentaries broadcast mainly on Canal+, Arte, or France TV.

After traveling across Europe for reports on cultural and societal themes, I specialized in scientific topics. I worked as a director for a scientific program on the Arte channel. I then wrote and directed documentary films and series on health, the environment, the fight against terrorism, and more recently, sports, always approached from a scientific angle. Recently, I directed a two-part historical docu-fiction for Canal+ about the escape of two East German families by hot air balloon in 1979. Several of my documentaries have won awards and been selected for festivals.

In addition to television documentaries, I also create corporate and brand content films for companies (IBM, L'Oréal, TotalEnergies, SFR, Cisco, etc.), mainly focused on scientific popularization.

With a background in German studies and being multilingual (German, Italian, English), I enjoy leveraging my linguistic background, technical skills, and field experience to make complex subjects accessible to a wide audience. I am also trained in scriptwriting and graphic arts, and I am currently seeking to blend documentary, fiction, and drawing to tell stories in new ways. In 2024, I was a finalist in the Stand-Up des Bleus at the Valence International Screenwriters' Festival, a pitch competition to present a film project to an audience in 10 minutes.

In parallel to my work as a director, I have also been training in public speaking and media relations for eleven years.

In this capacity, I have worked with major groups and institutions: Suez, Ferrero, L'Oréal, INSEE, the War College, etc.
