    1. Diode / Thyristor Rectifiers for the AC-DC input stage
    Objective: convert the three-phase grid (400V AC) into a stable DC voltage to power the resonant inverter stage.

    Thyristor rectifier (half-controlled or fully controlled bridge) for 80-150 kW, allowing gradual DC voltage control and inrush current limitation.
    Contributions:

    Semiconductor sizing (voltage withstand, average and peak current, thermal losses).

    DC-link filter calculation (smoothing inductor + capacitive bus) to minimize current ripple.

    RC snubber design for commutation protection of thyristors.

    Waveform simulation using LTspice (firing angle, power factor).

    Result: rectifier stage validated on resistive loads up to 150 kW with current THD <8% (with passive filtering).

    2. Resonant LLC Converter (power stage for the furnace)
    Objective: supply the induction coil at high frequency (10-50 kHz) with a sinusoidal AC voltage to generate eddy currents.

    Topology: full-bridge inverter with series resonant circuit (LLC).

    Contributions:

    Resonant cell sizing (Lr, Cr, Lm) to ensure Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) across the entire load range.

    Calculation of the transformer ratio, core selection (FeSi sheets or ferrite for HF), stranded copper winding.

    IGBT selection (up to 1200V) with desaturation protection.

    Transient regime simulation: startup, load variation (insertion of a metal part), overload protection.

    Thermal tests: water cooling system design (heatsink blocks on IGBTs and diodes).

    Result: 40 kW to 150 kW induction generators, overall efficiency (rectifier + inverter) >92% at full load.
