Delphine Dhilly

I have been writing and directing social documentaries for television for 20 years: Arte, France 2 (Infrarouge), but also for radio, France Culture (Les Pieds sur Terre). I also work on directing videos, capsules, and podcasts for institutional clients: I have, among other things, directed portraits of women scientists for the For Women in Science program for the L'Oréal Foundation - Unesco. With Australie, I directed a campaign on the issue of consent for adolescents for Santé publique France, produced by Création Collective.

I explore many themes, but my various assignments have led me to specialize particularly in so-called social films, and themes of gender equality. I created my production company and recently wrote and directed a pilot for a series about female sexuality.

My films and radio documentaries have told the stories of American soldiers' wives during the Iraq war, role-playing games in English, young adults at IUT, the gray area of consent, and the daily life of a school nurse. I wrote and performed a piece called Underwoman for Live Magazine and have occasionally collaborated on writing fiction projects. I enjoy capturing (filming and listening to) the present and the daily lives of those who are rarely heard, and blending them with their stories.

Perfectly bilingual in English, I lived for 1 year in South Africa and 4 years in the United States (Brooklyn) where I studied and worked.
