About David

Welcome to my profile. Passionate about designing and manufacturing objects, I support project leaders, companies, and industrialists in transforming their ideas into real, functional products.

From building thermal to CAD: The solution-oriented culture
In my professional life, I am a commissioning technician in climate engineering. It's a demanding field where rigor is paramount: I analyze complex systems, constantly adapt to field realities, and above all, I find solutions where others see obstacles. I enjoy understanding how things work, "talking to machines," and creating with my hands.

It's this same methodical and passionate approach that I apply to 3D modeling.

My journey in 3D
My adventure began in the field: I started as a volunteer designing and prototyping custom birdhouses for an association dedicated to biodiversity. This structure has now evolved into a cooperative (SCOP), and I continue to lead their technical development.

Since this first project, modeling has become a part of my daily life. I design and print almost every day: whether it's for reverse engineering to repair broken parts (an eco-design approach), custom ventilation grilles (a nod to my first profession!), or technical and functional hinges.

My skills: From CAD to mass production
My dual expertise allows me to master the entire product value chain, designing parts perfectly adapted to the physical constraints of the real world:

- Design & CAD: Advanced and clean 3D modeling on Fusion 360.

- Rapid Prototyping: High-precision 3D printing (mastery of technical filaments like PETG, PLA, TPU).

- Tooling & Industrialization: Design of counter-molds and casting of silicone molds for small-series production.

As part of industrialization projects and the creation of small series, I design and implement the entire tooling chain for manufacturing flexible or sealed silicone parts:

CAD design of tooling: Study of mechanical constraints on Fusion 360, management of parting lines, air vents, and draft angles to ensure perfect demolding.

Manufacturing of the counter-mold (PETG): High-fidelity 3D printing of the rigid mold (frame and impression) in PETG. The choice of PETG ensures excellent chemical resistance to silicone components and optimal geometric stability during the polymerization phase.

Preparation & Casting of silicone: Dosing, mixing, and casting of liquid silicone (two-component RTV type). Complete management of the integration process, from degassing to prevent micro-cavities, to final polymerization.

Since 2020, I have been supporting the technical and industrial development of [SCOP Name], a company specializing in creating solutions for biodiversity. Responsible for the transition from idea to actual product, my tasks include:

    - Engineering & CAD: Complete technical design and modeling of complex 3D files, optimized for manufacturing.
    - Rapid Prototyping: Manufacturing of functional prototypes through 3D printing for concept validation.
    - Tooling & Industrialization: Design and 3D printing of PETG counter-molds, followed by the creation of final silicone molds for series production.

This long-standing experience allows me to master the entire product lifecycle and design 3D models perfectly adapted to the physical constraints of the real world (molding, material resistance, draft constraints).
