Within an autonomous team, I was responsible for the Flask backend of a critical multi-channel notification management application (SMS, Email, Push, Ticket). Following a business model change, I was tasked with joining the Data team to lead the technical migration of this tool to their new standards.

My mission was to ensure service continuity while modernizing the technical architecture. In direct collaboration with a Front-end developer, I had to define the technical roadmap, reduce accumulated technical debt, and guarantee the reliability of deployments on GCP.

✅ Modernization & Architecture: I led a migration of the notification application to a 3-tier architecture, in close collaboration with the architect.

✅ Performance & Scalability: I developed a new real-time application with event-driven management (Kafka, PubSub).

✅ Quality & Craftsmanship: I established a testing culture by integrating complete workflows (unit and integration) and systematically applied the Boy Scout Rule to clean up existing code.

✅ DevOps & CI/CD: I took full responsibility for deployment on GCP (Cloud Run, App Engine), while optimizing the development environment through advanced VSCode configuration (tests and debuggers).

✅ Collaboration & Mentoring: I actively participated in process improvement through Pair Programming, rigorous Merge Request (MR) reviews, and defining common technical guidelines.

During this assignment, I successfully achieved:

✅ Successful migration of the tool to the Data ecosystem without service interruption.

✅ Addition of a new real-time component to the architecture to improve service quality.

✅ Stabilization of the release cycle through test automation and code quality improvement.

✅ Improved team velocity through a clear roadmap and smoother development processes.

In a team of 7 developers, I work on the Flask backend part of a cybersecurity governance application.

After a successful funding round to grow and conquer new markets, I joined one of the 2 existing teams to bring seniority to the Python part.

This is a client who renews their trust in me to go even further and bring my web development expertise.

My daily activities:

As part of the merger of 2 entities, a convergence project was initiated to rationalize and standardize tools/processes.

At the application level, we are establishing internal conventions with software structure choices based on needs. Code reviews are important for delivering maintainable code. Unit tests are implemented for each feature development.

The squad I joined works on the merchant experience: a dashboard containing payments in particular. The team consists of 2 front-end developers and 4 back-end developers.

I am responsible for deployment using the tools provided by the Ops team (via Gitlab). All my developments are deployed on a test and QA environment.

Activities:

I participate in the development of the micro-service architecture in conjunction with the architects. I am responsible for the POC on a limited scope to validate concepts. For this new micro-service, asynchronous management with FastAPI and a Mongo connection were chosen.

I conducted and led a load test with Locust to determine the capabilities and limits of the current system. To analyze this data, I relied on Datadog and configured information reporting with OpenTelemetry on the various projects.

I developed a CLI with Typer to migrate our users to the new authentication system.

Maintaining good Python development practices (assistance during MRs, knowledge sharing days...).

On a daily basis, I handle:

✅ Discussions on micro-service concepts (async/sync, package breakdown...).

✅ POC of a micro-service with Clean Architecture concept (DDD).

✅ Development of asynchronous micro-service applications on a Mongo DB.

✅ Functional evolutions on the legacy system.

✅ Corrective maintenance on the back-end.

✅ Implementation of unit and functional tests.
