Passionate about literature, I particularly enjoy translating poetry and original texts from English to French and from Spanish to French. Unlike the translation of explicit and current texts that I also do and which relies on the constitution of terminological bases of specialized words, literary translation requires acquiring an in-depth knowledge of the author in order to be able to translate his intention, his feeling, the allusive connotations of his words adequately. It is a very time-consuming practice, and therefore budget-consuming. However, for authors beginning to make a name for themselves, a strategy to reduce translation costs is to have their best short texts translated in order to show a sample of their literary talent. Another strategy, the best if an allophone author wishes to perfectly translate his work into French, is to learn French and participate in the translation process. I also offer French courses and writing coaching for a long time (+ 10 years). Be aware that it often takes at least a year to translate a work the size of a short story.
